Canberra Raiders Cup: Round Three Wrap

Round Three saw two clubs secure their first victory, a comprehensive victory from Woden Valley at home and the Kangaroos extract Grand Final revenge against the Blues at Seiffert. 

Queanbeyan Kangaroos 22 def. Queanbeyan Blues 16 

The Queanbeyan Kangaroos claimed a massive victory against the defending premiers, in the Queanbeyan Blues last Saturday in a physical contest. 

In a back and forth first half, the Blues shot out to a strong start through Zaen Edmonds before Richie Levita locked the scores up for the Kangaroos, however a late try to the Blues saw them lead before the break. 

For the second time in three weeks, however, the Kangaroos came from behind at the Break with second half tries to Broe, Bazzato and Ayres putting them in front, before a long-range effort from Jamie Mazzarol Kotz provided the home side with a glimmer of hope. 

The Blues threw everything they had at the Kangaroos; however, their defensive line held firm and claiming their third win of the season in the process. 

The Kangaroos return home for the first time this season next weekend to face the Gungahlin Bulls, whilst the Blues welcome the West Belconnen Warriors to Seiffert. 

Tuggeranong Bushrangers 38 def. Gungahlin Bulls 28

The Tuggeranong Bushrangers claimed their first victory of the 2026 season against the Bulls in a high scoring affair at Gungahlin Enclosed Oval. 

Winger Hardy Glover starred for the Bushrangers crossing for a try scoring double, whilst the halves enjoyed some joy as both Bennetto and Alexander-McCarthy scored a try. 

For the Bulls, the loss is there second of the season; after having a bye in Round Two, Travis Vawdon continued his impressive start to the year scoring a double. 

Gungahlin will look to bounce back next weekend against the Queanbeyan Kangaroos whilst the Bushrangers take on the Woden Valley Rams in the Southside derby. 

West Belconnen Warriors 22 def. Goulburn City Bulldogs 18 

The West Belconnen Warriors secured their first victory of the season in a tight four-point victory, which included a try in the dying stages. 

The outside backs for the Warriors proved lethal at Raiders Belconnen with Withers, Pohahau, Taupau and Whitehead crossing the line. 

Tomasi Bikaca continued his try scoring form in the loss for the Bulldogs, scoring his third try in as many games. 

The Warriors will look for back-to-back wins next weekend against the Queanbeyan Blues, while the Bulldogs have the bye. 

Woden Valley Rams 50 def. Yass Magpies 6 

The Woden Valley Rams claimed their second victory of the season in comprehensive fashion at Woden Athletic Track against the Yass Magpies. 

In the eight tries to one victory, five eight Ryan Griffin and Interchange player Matthew Cox scored doubles, whilst halfback Josh Fattore successfully converted nine goals. 

It was a tough afternoon for the Magpies, the loss is their second of the season, with Ben Davis providing the sole highlight scoring their only try. 

The Rams will look for three straight wins next weekend against the Bushrangers at home whilst the Magpies return home to face the Belconnen United Sharks who are rested after the bye.
