Round Six of the Katrina Fanning Shield has come to a close, with only one game taking place between the Gungahlin Bulls and Queanbeyan Blues.

Gungahlin Bulls 36 def. Queanbeyan Blues 20

The Gungahlin Bulls have earnt their second win of the season, defeating the Queanbeyan Blues 36-20 at home on Saturday afternoon.

In her first appearance for the season, April Downey put on a stellar performance, scoring a hattrick on the way to victory.

Elsewhere, five-eighth Samantha Bailey had a perfect afternoon from the kicking tee, converting six-from-six, seeing her take fifth place for total points scored in the season.

On the other side of the field, Queanbeyan entered Saturday’s showdown off the back of a bye in round 5.

Kiarra Morgan and Tyrah Nye both crossed for their first tries of the season, while Payge Salinas had a solid afternoon with the boot.

Despite having only played three games in 2026, the Blues have continued to build into their season, proving as competitive rivals for the rest of the competition.

Both the Bulls and Blues return to action this weekend against the Sharks and Rams respectively, with a full round of The Katrina Fanning Shield promising plenty of action.
