Canberra Raiders Cup: Round Seven Wrap

Round Seven of the Canberra Raiders Cup saw the Blues spoil the Rams party, the ladder leaders continuing their undefeated start, Gungahlin secure a tight win and an important victory for the Magpies at home. 

Queanbeyan Blues 18 def. Woden Valley Rams 16

The Queanbeyan Blues claimed a tight victory against the Woden Valley Rams at Woden Park cementing their spot inside the top four. 

For the Blues, the victory is their fourth of the season and sees them leapfrog the Rams into third position, Connor Williams and Jayden McLachlan combined well in the halves, whilst Zaen Edmonds punched out 80 minutes of quality in the middle. 

Meanwhile, Woden Valley suffered their third consecutive loss and sees them on the brink of the top four, Kosta Posantzis celebrated his 100th First Grade match and crossed for a try to mark the occasion. 

The Woden Valley Rams will look to halt their run of defeats in Round Eight against the Gungahlin Bulls, while the Blues welcome the Magpies to Seiffert Oval. 

Queanbeyan Kangaroos 36 def. West Belconnen Warriors 22 

The Queanbeyan Kangaroos continued their undefeated start to the season with a comprehensive victory against the West Belconnen Warriors. 

Kangaroos Captain Coach Adam Quinlan starred for the visitors scoring a double in his side's victory, whilst halfback Tyler Campbell scored a fantastic individual try. 

For the Warriors, the loss is their fifth of the campaign and sees them remain one win outside the top four, George Pohahau crossed for a try, whilst Brandon Withers continued his point scoring spree with a try and three conversions. 

The Kangaroos have a well earnt weekend off in Round Eight with a bye, with the Warriors preparing for the Belconnen Derby against the Belconnen United Sharks. 

Gungahlin Bulls 18 def. Belconnen United Sharks 16 

The Gungahlin Bulls secured a tight two-point victory against the Belconnen United Sharks at NSWRL HQ Bruce. 

Five-eight Noah Marcantonio continued his strong opening to the season, scoring a try in his team's victory, Ryan Groccott kicked 3/4 with the boot including the conversion which claimed the two points. 

The loss is the Sharks second in a row, however the total for those two defeats equates to 10 points which will provide the coaching staff with confidence, Clyde Parson continues to cement himself in the Canberra Raiders Cup scoring a try in the defeat. 

Belconnen United will look to bounce back against the West Belconnen Warriors at home next weekend, whilst the Bulls take on the Rams. 

Yass Magpies 30 def. Goulburn City Bulldogs 26 

The Yass Magpies secured their second win of the 2026 campaign against the Goulburn City Bulldogs at home in a tight four-point contest. 

Winger Toby Dasey crossed for a double in the home side's victory, whilst Lane Davis continued his impressive form in the middle of the field, scoring a try as well. 

Meanwhile, for the Bulldogs Tomasi Bikaca continued his strong form for his new side with the outside back at his damaging best with a double. 

The Magpies will be striving for back-to-back wins for the first time this season in a fortnights time against the Blues, whilst the Bulldogs take on the Bushrangers at Greenway Oval.
