Katrina Fanning Shield: Round 11 Preview

Round 11 of the Katrina Fanning Shield will kick off on Saturday morning, with three clashes going head-to-head as sides will be looking to shake up the ladder leading into the back end of the season.

Tuggeranong Bushrangers v Gungahlin Bulls, Greenway Oval, Saturday 4th July, 10:40 am

The Bushrangers will be hosting the Bulls for the second time this season on Saturday at Greenway Oval.

With Tuggeranong sitting fifth following their round 10 bye, they will be looking to gain some position on the ladder.

Meanwhile, for the Bulls, they will be looking to keep their top four spot following their 16-point win against the Rams in round 10.

With their round one clash ending in a 16-all draw, both sides will be looking for bragging rights in this match.

Molly Sturgiss continues to be a standout player for the Bulls, sitting third in the race for top try scorer, while Tuggeranong’s Adelaide Norris will be a close competitor, sitting on six tries in six games.

A highlight for the Bushrangers with their second-rower Teilya Hetaraka being named in the Mounties team in the Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership.

West Belconnen Warriors v Queanbeyan Blues, Seears Workwear Oval, Saturday 4th July, 10:40 am

The Warriors will welcome the Blues on Saturday morning at Seears Workwear Oval

With neither side having the home ground advantage, this will be a clash that’s neutral but still all left on the field.

With the Warriors sitting at the top of the ladder, they will be looking to keep this going following their 16-all draw against the Magpies in round 10.

For the Blues, they will be looking to gain some positive momentum and bounce back following their 26-12 deficit to the Sharks.

The last time these two sides met was in round four where the Warriors walked away with the two points 28-22.

Yass Magpies v Woden Valley Rams, Walker Park, Saturday 4th July, 12 pm

The Magpies will return home to Walker Park to host the Rams in a midday clash.

Following their 16-all draw with the Warriors, the home side is currently sitting seventh and will look to gain a win in front of a home crowd.

For the travelling side, they are sitting in the middle of the pack in fourth position, following their 16-point deficit against the Bulls in round 10.

The last time these two sides met was back in round three, where the Rams entered the winner’s circle after a 38-12 triumph.

The Belconnen Sharks will have the bye for Round 11 following their 26-12 win against the Blues. We will welcome them back in Round 12 against the Bushrangers.
