Katrina Fanning Shield: Round 12 Wrap

Round 12 of the Blumers Lawyers Katrina Fanning Shield, saw the Blues and Magpies unable to be split, whilst the Sharks and Warriors continued rolling as premiership contenders.

Queanbeyan Blues 12 draw. Yass Magpies 12

The Queanbeyan Blues and Yass Magpies couldn't be split at Seiffert Oval playing out a twelve all draw.

Goal kicking proved the difference in the matchup, with the Blues scoring three tries to two, however they weren't able nail any conversions leaving them to settle for a point.

Meanwhile, for the Magpies the draw is their second in as many weeks, with this sure to provide them with confidence that their first win is around the corner, Jenna Cooke was their best crossing the try line on two occasions.

The Magpies quest for their first win returns to Walker Park this weekend when they take on the Bushrangers, whilst the Blues have the weekend off with the bye.

Belconnen United Sharks 38 def. Tuggeranong Bushrangers 6

The Belconnen United Sharks secured a comprehensive victory against the Bushrangers at Greenway Oval on Saturday to ensure they keep the pressure at the top of the ladder.

In a reshuffled backline, Eliza Taylor featured at fullback for the visitors, however this didn't impact the Sharks flyer ability to hit the scoreboard crossing for a double and extending her lead at the top of the try scoring tally.

Bushrangers five-eight Adelaide Norris provided the sole highlight for her side with a classic halves try, with a show and go underneath the black dot.

Tuggeranong will be striving to bounce next weekend against the Magpies at Walker Park, whilst the Sharks take on the Rams in a top four contest.

West Belconnen Warriors 16 def. Woden Valley Rams 10

The West Belconnen Warriors claimed a tight six-point victory against fellow top four contenders in the Woden Valley Rams.

After a slip up against the Magpies last start, the Warriors returned to winning ways in a close encounter at Woden Park, forwards Uta Uatisone Poke and Rosaline Aumale led from the front both scoring tries.

The loss for the Rams sees them sit on the edge of the top four and vulnerable to the chasing pack, Kailee Lamont and Gypsy Brookman both crossed for a try in the defeat.

The task doesn't get any easier for Woden Valley as they welcome the Sharks to Woden Park, whilst the Warriors are at home on Sunday against the Gungahlin Bulls.
