Canberra Raiders Cup: Round 14 Wrap

This week's action in the Blumers Lawyers Canberra Raiders Cup saw the top four stamp their authority on the competition, as they all secured victories. 

Woden Valley Rams 19 def. Tuggeranong Bushrangers 6

The Woden Valley Rams secured a crucial victory away from home against the Tuggeranong Bushrangers, cementing their spot inside the top four in the process. 

Entering the match on the same competition points, the victory was paramount for both teams' final chances, with a strong defensive performance from the Rams, ensuring they claimed the two points. 

Filling in at fullback, Sam Gash starred for Woden Valley, scoring a try and field goal, whilst also adding three conversions in a win which sees his side kick clear from the Bulldogs and Bushrangers. 

Meanwhile, for the Bushrangers the loss will be a frustrating one as they had their chances, however their execution in the red zone prevented them from scoring more than one try, curtesy of Liam Oakley. 

Tuggeranong will have the weekend off to work on this, as they have the bye, whilst the Rams travel to Queanbeyan for an exciting top four clash against the Queanbeyan Blues. 

Queanbeyan Kangaroos 30 def. Gungahlin Bulls 18 

The Queanbeyan Kangaroos continued to be the team to beat in the Canberra Raiders Cup competition, with their latest victory all but ending the finals chances of the Gungahlin Bulls. 

A double from Captain Coach Adam Quinlan ensured that the Kangaroos remained atop of the ladder, as they continue their push for a fourth consecutive minor premiership. 

Meanwhile, for the Bulls the twelve-point defeat sees them face a monumental task to qualify for finals, Nofoasa Lemalu was their best scoring a double in the loss. 

The Kangaroos will look to continue their winning ways next weekend against the West Belconnen Warriors at home, meanwhile the Bulls face the second-place Sharks at Gungahlin Enclosed.

Belconnen United Sharks 40 def. Yass Magpies 6 

The Belconnen United Sharks celebrated their multicultural day with a monumental defeat against the Yass Magpies at home. 

A hat-trick from fullback Tristan Eldridge was the highlight for the home side in a victory which sees them take a step closer to a top two finish. 

Whilst, for the Magpies the heavy defeat is their second in as many weeks, Caleb Piper crossing for their only try of the match. 

Yass will look for their fourth win of the season next weekend against the Goulburn City Bulldogs, whilst the Sharks travel to Gungahlin Enclosed to take on the Bulls. 

Queanbeyan Blues 28 def. West Belconnen Warriors 22 

The Queanbeyan Blues secured a slim six-point victory against the West Belconnen Warriors at Raiders Belconnen for their first victory in three weeks. 

The five try to three victory for the Blues sees them claim their seventh win of the season, Jamie Mazzarol Kotz continued his impressive form with a try scoring double. 

For West Belconnen, the loss is their eighth of the season and sees them remain two wins outside the top four, middle forward Atu Tupou was one of his team's best once again crossing the try line for the second time in as many weeks. 

The task for the Warriors doesn't get any easier as they travel to Queanbeyan to face the Kangaroos, whilst the Blues face the Rams at Seiffert Oval.
