Katrina Fanning Shield: Round 14 Wrap

Tight encounters and high scoring affairs highlighted an exciting round in the Blumers Lawyers Katrina Fanning Shield, with the top four kicking clear from the rest of the competition. 

Woden Valley Rams 18 def. Tuggeranong Bushrangers 6 

The Woden Valley Rams took a massive leap forward towards securing a finals position with a tight victory against the Tuggeranong Bushrangers. 

In the four tries to one victory, the Rams have risen to third on the ladder, fullback Lara Cosgrove continued her recent strong form with two tries extending her streak to five in two games. 

Whilst for the Bushrangers, the loss sees them face a tough task to qualify for the final's series, Jana Teivonen providing them with their sole try on the weekend. 

The Bushrangers have the bye next weekend, whilst the Woden Valley Rams take on the Queanbeyan Blues at Seiffert Oval. 

Belconnen United Sharks 58 def. Yass Magpies 4

The Belconnen United Sharks flexed their premiership muscle on Saturday with a dominate victory against the Yass Magpies. 

Sharks' flyer Eliza Taylor extended her lead at the top of the try scoring list with a five try haul in a blistering attacking performance which highlights their biggest threat.

Meanwhile, for the Magpies it was a difficult day at the office as they still await their first victory of the season, Maddison Higgins scored their individual try on the afternoon. 

The Yass Magpies have the weekend off with the bye, whilst the Sharks travel to Gungahlin to face the Bulls in an exciting top four matchup. 

West Belconnen Warriors 16 draw. Queanbeyan Blues 16 

The West Belconnen Warriors and Queanbeyan Blues played out a 16 all draw at Raiders Belconnen on Sunday morning. 

The draw is the second of the season for West Belconnen and sees them come back to the chasing pack, now only two points clear at the top of the table. 

Despite scoring one less try; the Blues walk away from Raiders Belconnen with a point in hand against the premiers, Courtney Mapleson scored the try of the morning with a ninety-meter effort.  

The Warriors have the weekend off in round 15 with the bye, whilst the Blues return home to meet the Woden Valley Rams.
