The Canberra Raiders are proud to announce the extension of their valued community partnership with Wattle Blue.
Wattle Blue is a Canberra-based disability support service dedicated to providing care for children, teenagers, and young adults. Their mission is to create fun, inclusive, and empowering environments that help young people build life skills, grow their independence, and improve their overall quality of life.
At the heart of Wattle Blue’s approach is a commitment to recruiting support workers who embody their core values, individuals who are enthusiastic, adaptable, and eager to make a positive difference.
Since the partnership began in 2023, the collaboration has seen Raiders players from SG Ball through to the NRL, step into roles as support workers, helping to inspire and connect with youth in the local community.
"Wattle Blue is incredibly proud to continue this partnership with the Canberra Raiders, we've seen first-hand the impact it has, not only for our clients, but for the players themselves," said Wattle Blue Director Jack Cheeseman.
"Over the past few years, the players have consistently been some of our most hardworking, disciplined and reliable support workers. They bring a fantastic attitude, genuine empathy and a willingness to get involved, which aligns perfectly with the values we look for in our team. This was celebrated when Taylor Withington was awarded as one of our Support Workers of the Year in 2025.
"Our clients and their families have responded so positively to having these young men involved in their lives. They build real relationships, become trusted role models and help create experiences that are fun, supportive and empowering. We're excited to continue growing the program and creating more opportunities to make a positive difference together."
