NSW Cup & Jersey Flegg: Round 22 Wrap

The Canberra Raiders NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg sides fell to the Panthers on Saturday afternoon at Parker Street Reserve, Penrith.

Knock On Effect NSW Cup

The Canberra Raiders NSW Cup side went down narrowly to the Panthers on Saturday afternoon.

The Panthers were the first to pounce through Blaize Talagi who crossed over for a try.

Raiders winger Sione Finau replied with a try before Penrith had the last say, taking a 12-6 lead into halftime.

Penrith continued their momentum in the second half, opening up a 14-point lead as they looked to claim victory.

Sione Finau grabbed a second half double to secure his hattrick, but it wasn't enough to overcome their deficit.

Canberra will return home this Saturday for a triple header at GIO Stadium against the Knights.

Jersey Flegg Cup

The Raiders Jersey Flegg side were defeated 50-22 by the Panthers on Saturday afternoon.

The home side started hot, scoring five first half tries to lead the Raiders 28-6.

It took nearly an hour for Canberra to cross for their second try of the afternoon, when Sam Hyne crashed over in the second half.

The Raiders crossed for two tries through Mark Morrow and Patrick Broe which cut into the lead, but it was all too late as the Panthers claimed victory.
