Round 16 of the Katrina Fanning Shield kicks off this weekend, with two games set to keep local footy fans entertained across Saturday morning.
Queanbeyan Blues v Gungahlin Bulls, Seiffert Oval, Saturday 8th August, 10:40am
The Queanbeyan Blues welcome the Gungahlin Bulls to Seiffert Oval this Saturday, as Gungahlin look to jump into third position ahead of the Rams.
Coming off an impressive win against the Belconnen United Sharks in round 15, the Bulls seem insistent of making a late surge up the competition ladder, with second and first position still in reach with three games to play.
Molly Sturgiss is sure to have the Blues defence on high alert this Saturday, as she continued her strong run of form with two tries against the Sharks last weekend.
Whilst a finals birth is now out of reach for the Blues, they will be hoping to continue an improved run of form in recent weeks, having taken the third positioned Rams all the way last week.
If the Blues are to unsettle the Bulls this Saturday, it is almost guaranteed that Courtney Mapleson will be in the mix for a try or two, leading the charge for Queanbeyan with 10 tries to date.
Tuggeranong Bushrangers v West Belconnen Warriors, Greenway Oval, Saturday 8th August, 10:40am
Tuggeranong play host to the competition leading Warriors this weekend, as both teams will be looking for some success coming off the bye.
With their last win coming in round 12, the Warriors will be hoping to rediscover the form that saw them undefeated for the most part of the season as they head towards the finals.
On the other side of the field, Tuggeranong will be hoping to demonstrate some signs of improvement against the competition leaders, and potentially even snare an upset victory to add to their tally.
When these two teams previously met in round six, it was the Warriors coming away with a strong 20-0 victory.
