Canberra Raiders Cup: Washout Round Wrap

The regular season of the Blumers Lawyers Canberra Raiders Cup concluded on the weekend, with the race to the finals exciting to the final stages. 

Goulburn City Bulldogs 32 def. West Belconnen Warriors 16 

The Goulburn City Bulldogs locked in their first finals appearance since 2019 after a strong victory at home against the West Belconnen Warriors. 

It was celebration at Workers Arena from the moment they ran out onto the park, with Mitch Cornish announcing before kick-off that it would be his last match at home, with the halfback calling time on his career at seasons end. 

Cornish played a critical role in guiding his side to finals with a couple of try assists which saw him named the Queanbeyan Kangaroos Leagues Club Player of the Match, Taylor Withington and Shammah Tiumalu were amongst their best as well with the latter scoring a double. 

Meanwhile, the loss pulls a curtain on the season of the West Belconnen Warriors, Peila Siale was strong for the visitors crossing for a double in the defeat. 

The Goulburn City Bulldogs will prepare for a do or die final against the Belconnen United Sharks at NSWRL HQ Bruce on Sunday afternoon. 

Queanbeyan Blues 28 def. Queanbeyan Kangaroos 18 

The Queanbeyan Blues locked in second position and the second chance after defeating their cross-town rivals in the Queanbeyan Kangaroos at Seears Workwear Oval. 

Fullback Troy Codey was instrumental in the encounter crossing for a double in the sides twelve victory of the season, elevating them to the Major Semi Final next weekend. 

Meanwhile, the loss for the Kangaroos is their third and whilst the Minor Premiership was already secured, they will be disappointed with their performance, dummy half Lachlan Ingram tried to will his side over the line with a strong performance. 

These two sides will face of next Saturday in the Major Semi Final with a spot in the 2026 Grand Final on the line. 

Woden Valley Rams 28 def. Yass Magpies 16 

The Woden Valley Rams defeated the Yass Magpies at Walker Park; however it wasn't enough to secure a spot in the Top Four. 

Needing to win and a result to go there way, the Rams held up their end of the bargin with a strong performance away from home, fullback Sam Gash featured heavily in the match crossing for a double. 

Meanwhile, the loss sees the Magpies finish bottom of the Blumers Lawyers Canberra Raiders Cup ladder, Kaiden Bell finished the season strongly with a double in the loss. 

Both sides season comes to an end this weekend, with the Rams and Magpies missing out on the top four. 

Gungahlin Bulls 28 def. Tuggeranong Bushrangers 24 

The Gungahlin Bulls finish their 2026 season with back-to-back victories, defeating the Tuggeranong Bushrangers on Saturday afternoon at Greenway Oval. 

A double to edge backrower Harvey Mahoney guided the Gungahlin outfit to a strong victory to end the season, with it sure to provide them with confidence heading into next season. 

Meanwhile, for the Bushrangers the defeat is their eleventh of the season and sees them relegated to eighth on the ladder in what will be a disappointing season, Paul Alofipo had a strong final game with a double. 

Both teams will be looking to rebound in 2027 and feature inside the top four after a campaign which they will take plenty of lessons from.
