CRC Minor Semi Final Preview

The Minor Semi-Final match will continue the excitement into Sunday afternoon, where the Belconnen United Sharks are set to host the Goulburn City Bulldogs at NSWRL HQ Bruce. 

The Sharks enter this matchup fresh off a bye round in the washout round, while the Bulldogs will be full of confidence after a victory against the Warriors which booked their finals spot.

Belconnen look strong going into this clash and finished the competition two wins ahead of the Bulldogs, which sees them host the elimination final which will play a key role in the fight to secure a place in the Preliminary Finals.

Jordan Holten-Williams highlighted that his Sharks squad need to put in the work to keep their momentum rolling. 

“It is do or die. We’re going to have to put that 80-minute performance in to stay alive in the competition,” Holten-Williams said.  

“They’ve got strike around the whole park… we have to focus on ourselves, and if we all do our jobs we’ll go close to winning."

Tristan Eldridge and Benjamin Kami for the Sharks and Tomasi Bikaca for the Bulldogs have all scored 13 tries. This balance in attack is set to create a tight score line in this finals match. 

Meanwhile, Goulburn are back in the finals for the first time since 2019. Taylor Withington described the scenes as unreal when they secured their place in this week’s clash. 

“It’s been seven years since the boys have been in the finals, so it’s great to be there again,” Withington said. 

“Massive team culture we have. We look after each other like a brotherhood."

The Bulldogs are confident going into this clash from behind and are prepared to produce an upset for the fans. 

“We know we can do it and we’ve just got to back ourselves and play our own game. A lot of confidence is coming each week. An upset in their home territory is the best way to do it.”

With the preliminary final on the line, Sunday’s clash is guaranteed to be electric.
