The Minor Semi-Final sees the Woden Valley Rams and Gungahlin Bulls face off in a do or die showdown on Sunday afternoon at NSWRL HQ Bruce.
With a preliminary final spot on the line in this match, both teams will look to bring their A-game and leave nothing behind on the field.
The Rams travelled to Walker Park in Yass for their last hit-out for the regular season last weekend and came back in the winner’s circle 34-10, with Rams forward Jaymie Napier stating they were pleased with the performance.
"We’re very happy with that win and a good win to have before going into finals to set the tone of how we want to play," Napier said.
With the whole side putting on a masterclass, two players stood out: Lara Cosgrove and Grace Milne
Cosgrove has been a standout all season, racking up 128 points in 14 games, she has been an attacking masterclass
For the Bulls, they had a forfeit last weekend, but this hasn't stopped them from going all in off the field, with captain Tikirah Ann Douglas saying they have been working incredibly hard during the week off.
"It's just important what goes ahead now on at training and putting in that extra 1%," Douglas said.
The last time these two sides faced off was in Round 17 where the Rams walked away victorious 40-nil.
Even though the tough loss was not ideal leading into the back end of the season, the Bulls took a lot of resilience from this and gelled a lot better as a team.
"It will be a big team effort, but I don't think any individual player will break through… it will come down to patience and what we’ve been doing at training and sticking to our game plan."
The Rams are still confident despite going into finals in fourth spot; they are confident leading into this match, but still aware of the stakes
"Probably wasn't our most ideal position in the end, but I think the fact that we’ve made finals and I think the main thing is now making it to the very end."
"We take alot of confidence, but we know that the Bulls can’t be underestimated and that we have to be ready", Napier added
The victorious team will advance to the preliminary final while the loser will see their season end in this game.
