The Toyota Forklifts Canberra Raiders are excited to announce the contract extensions of Jed Stuart, Malachi Smith and Mark Tuialii.
Jed Stuart will remain a Raider until the end of 2029, with emerging talents Malachi Smith and Mark Tuialii both locked in until the end of the 2028 season.
A local Woden Valley Rams junior, Jed Stuart made his debut in round 16, 2025 against the Wests Tigers, scoring a memorable try.
He has since gone on to make 28 appearances in green, scoring 11 tries and has become a valuable member of the Raiders squad.
Stuart said he was excited to secure his future in green and was looking forward to working hard in the pre-season ahead of the 2027 season.
“I’m so stoked. Growing up in Canberra, this was the club I grew up watching, so it’s so special to stay here for three more years,” Stuart said.
“There’s obviously a lot of work in front of us but the young talent we have here is exciting.”
Raider #414 Malachi Smith burst onto the scene in 2026, making his NRL debut in the final round of the season against the Cowboys after excelling in the lower grades and impressing coach Ricky Stuart.
Smith was awarded the 2026 Raiders NSW Cup Player of the Year and said it was an easy decision to stay in Canberra for the next two years.
“I’m pretty stoked. This year has all been a surprise with debuting, and I’m extremely honoured to stay at this club,” Smith said.
“I’ve got so much trust in the coaching staff and the players around me which has paid dividends. Ricky values hard work, which means a lot to me.”
Exciting young outside back Mark Tuialii has risen through the ranks since joining the Raiders back in 2023 and was awarded the NSW Cup Coaches’ Award for his efforts this season.
Mark was grateful to re-sign with the club who he calls family and is excited to re-pay that through his performances as he eyes an NRL debut in 2027.
“I’m really happy to re-sign. The Raiders have helped me on and off the field and have become a family to me,” Tuialii said.
“I’ve been working really hard on my game. Simi (Sasagi) and Mokes (Matt Timoko) have been giving me some tips here and there, and it would mean so much to make my debut in the future.”
