Tom Learoyd-Lahrs will make his first appearance for the year when he takes the field for Mounties in the VB NSW Cup for their clash against the North Sydney Bears on Saturday at 3:00pm at Aubrey Keech Reserve.
The former Australian Test forward injured his ankle in the week before the NRL season began and his sheer physical presence, experience and leadership will greatly benefit Mounties as they strive to maintain their standing at the top of the VB NSW Cup ladder.
After filling in for the suspended Shaun Fensom last Round for the Raiders, Matt McIlwrick will return to the side at hooker.
The inclusion of Learoyd-Lahrs and McIlwrick round out a terrific forward pack for Mounties with all of the starting pack comprising Raiders NRL squad members.
Unfortunately Mounties will be without Bill Tupou this week after he was selected on the wing for the Raiders NRL side following the injury to Edrick Lee.
This sees Jeremy Hawkins shifted from wing to centre and Gus Aiga brought into the team.
