Playmaker Josh McCrone speaks to Raiders TV following the announcement that he has re-signed with the club for a further two years.

McCrone made his debut for the Raiders in 2009 and has played over 100 NRL matches for the Green Machine and has represented Country Origin for the past three years.

McCrone said he was excited to announce he was staying in Canberra and said he believed the club was working towards a positive and successful future.

“I’m pleased to have my future secure here in Canberra and I look forward to building on the new culture that Ricky Stuart has started here in Canberra,” he said. “A number of great players have re-signed so far this year and I believe we have a team who can improve and become a finals contender.”

Raiders CEO Don Furner said the club was thrilled to have another Raiders junior stay with the club and said his versatility makes him an important part of the squad moving forward.

“Josh has played over 100 NRL matches for the Raiders and is one of the team’s most consistent performers,” he said. “He moved here from Temora in Country NSW and played his junior football with the club, before making his NRL debut in 2009.

“He can play in the halves or at hooker and we see his role as an important one for the Raiders over the next two seasons.”
