The Canberra Raiders will celebrate all things junior rugby league this Saturday, with a huge day planned for the Raiders v Dragons at GIO Stadium.  

Round two of the NRL is #PlayNRL round and the Raiders along with match day sponsor McDonalds have a huge amount of activities and giveaways to help celebrate junior rugby league.

The NRL Golden Boot virtual kicking game will be set up in the Western Forecourt and junior players can test their skills in this fun 3D animation game. There will also be Play NRL flyers handed out to find out more about how to play rugby league.

Match Day Sponsor McDonalds are sponsoring the annual junior club relay, with 11 of the Canberra Region Rugby League clubs and Touch Football ACT competing. Each club will have one representative from under 6’s to under 16’s with the winner crowned the annual champion!

All of the under 6’s involved will also have the opportunity to escort the Raiders NRL players onto the field, in what will be a huge thrill for the junior rugby league players.

Post-Match this weekend the Raiders NRL team will be in the Meninga Lounge to meet fans and sign autographs, so stick around after the game!

There will also be the popular Maccas Power play during the first half and if the Raiders score during this five minute period, all members and ticket holders will be able to recieve any menu item for free when they purchase the same menu item (ACT Stores only). 

Fans are encouraged to visit the Jersey’s Megastore merchandise stands on both sides of the ground to pick up the latest edition of the Raider Magazine, which includes the NRL player profiles, team poster and a feature on new recruits Sia Soliola and Frank Paul Nuuausala.

Members who visit the marquee between 4.30pm and 5.30pm for the Raiders Hour of Power will receive 15% off their purchase of Raiders merchandise.

The DHA beanies are back as well in 2015, with a new look lime green beanie set to be hot property at Raiders matches. Fans can pick one up at the game by making a gold coin donation to Soldier On.

The Western forecourt will be buzzing with activity, with access to Victor’s Viking Ship available for the kids free of charge along with the ActewAGL Pass the Ball Inflatable. DJ Rawson will be pumping out music to get fans excited ahead of the game and be sure to check out the Members Honour Banner and the new Merchandise range in the Raiders Jerseys Megastore Shop.

The Emeralds, who are proudly supported by McDonalds, will be performing this week with Ronald McDonald himself, while Club personnel will be firing T-Shirts into the crowd from their brand new cannon thanks to www.raidersshop.com.au

At halftime we’ll also have the Huawei High Ball challenge, with the weekly winner winning a Huawei Device and the end of season winner a trip to the 2015 NRL Grand Final, as well as the Lighthouse Dance Cam.

At all home matches during season 2015, member benefits are available with 10% discounts off food thanks to GEMA catering, and 10% off merchandise at the Raiders Shop Jersey’s Megastore Merchandise tent in the west forecourt (NB: 15% discount in effect from 4.30pm-5.30pm this weekend).

All in all it promises to be a massive day at GIO Stadium. Gates open at 3.00pm, with the NYC match at 3.15pm and the NRL fixture between Raiders and Dragons kicking off at 5.30pm.
