The Canberra Raiders junior representative teams will return to Raiders Belconnen on Saturday, for the penultimate round of the Harold Matthews and SG Ball competitions.

Harold Matthews - Canberra Raiders v Penrith Panthers
Raiders Belconnen, Saturday 2 April

12:30pm

The Raiders Harold Matthews team is currently sitting in sixth place on the ladder, one point ahead of the Panthers who are in eighth. With the ladder extremely congested, the Raiders will be desperate to come away with the win to stay in finals contention.

"This week we have really tried to focus on the defensive side of our game. As a group we have been trying to be more dominant around the ruck, and have spent the past few weeks developing our technique," Head coach Adam Kyle said of the squad's preparation.

"The boys have come out of last weekend's game really positive and want to keep improving. It’s a great challenge taking on Penrith who have a fantastic and proud history in junior football."

We know we are up against a top side this week who will be hungry to get the two points on offer."

SG Ball - Canberra Raiders v Penrith Panthers
Raiders Belconnen, Saturday 2 April

2:00pm

The Raiders SG Ball team is currently in eighth position on the ladder, facing a tough task against a Panthers outfit that is sitting in second and only has one loss.

"This week is about consistency. We need to control the small aspects of our game so the bigger things can take shape," Head coach Dean Souter said.

"At the end of the day if we execute well and apply our minds to playing quality sets we will continue to improve."

Panthers are running hot in SG Ball, they are a quality outfit that are very well coached. We expect this game to be a real grind and we are looking forward to the challenge."
