An experienced North Queensland Cowboys have proved too strong for the Raiders young stars, as they ran out 35-6 winners in the Hunua Pool match at the Auckland Nines at Eden Park.

The Raiders started slowly when they turned the ball over in the first set and the Cowboys made them pay, with Kyle Feldt scoing out wide to give them an early 4-0 lead.

The Cowboys extended their lead soon after through Javid Bowen, with the Cowboys winger converting his own try to make it 10-0. A try to Gela-Mosby gave the Cowboys a handy 14-0 lead at the break.

The Star studded Cowboys flexed their muscle in the second half with the experienced Michael Morgan and Jonathan Thurston taking control, with Gela-Mosby and Ponga getting doubles.

The only try for the Green Machine came late in the match when Thomas Cronan crossed for a try after some nice skill from Nic Cotric to score. Jordan Turner converted but it wasn't enough as the Cowboys won comfortably 35-6.
