Elliott Whitehead had a superb season for the Canberra Raiders which resulted in the English forward receiving the Coaches award at the Meninga Medal night from Ricky Stuart.

The English forward was a constant presence in the Raiders side throughout the year and came up with some big plays when it mattered.

Playing in 23 games this season, Whitehead only missed the Rd 5 clash against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium in which the Raiders were narrowly defeated.

Whitehead's first try came in the green machine's massive 46-6 win over Wests Tigers at GIO Stadium in Rd 3. Playing in the second rown that day, Whitehead also bagged a try assist.

Unfortunately the English international was handed a one game suspension for tripping during the 13-12 loss to the Brisbane Broncos in Rd 4.

Whitehead returned to the side and continued to play in every other game of the season for Canberra. In the Raiders Rd 19 clash against the St George Illawarra Dragons at GIO Stadium, Whitehead received an offload from Dave Taylor to crash in on the right side of the goal post to give the green machine a golden point victory which was a massive morale boosting win for the side.

In total, Whitehead completed just under 2000 running metres from 240 runs with the football. He also made 769 tackles, 12 offloads and five try assists.
