Member Recognition Round

The Canberra Raiders will commence their 2018 home season this Sunday night by celebrating with their members as part of the club’s annual member recognition round.

Just over 17,000 members have signed on to join the club in 2018, as the club strives to hit 20,000 members for the first time in club history.

Sunday’s match is an opportunity for the club to recognise their membership base and will conduct over 60-member specific activations for the match against the Knights.

The clubs first Viking Ambassador for the season will be member Grant Wilson, who came closest to winning the Austbrokers Canberra $500,000 season predictor competition in 2017. He will have the honour of blowing the Viking Horn to kick-off the Raiders home season and bring the team onto GIO Stadium for the first time this year.

The clubs 18th Raider experience will also be taken up by club member Craig Scarlett, who ran second in the Season predictor competition. He will have the chance to go behind the scenes with the team during the day.

The extremely popular autograph Alley is back for another season, with the club’s junior members having the chance to meet the team as they arrive at the game each week, in this exclusive opportunity for junior members each week.

One of the club’s junior members will also run the team onto the ground for the NRL match as the junior mascot, while 20 members will line the players tunnel at kick-off and another 20 at halftime, to help welcome the team on the field.

This week we will also have two family membership holders enter the field of play pre-game to get up close and personal with the team during warm-up. They will have the opportunity to get close to the action and learn more about how the team prepares pre-game.

Pre-game in the Members Lounge (East Lounge) one lucky Raiders member will have the chance to spin for $50,000 thanks to Austbrokers Canberra and will win a minimum guaranteed $1000.

The Members lounge continues to be the hub for Members to get together pre-game each week, with pool tables and foosball available, as well as live music this week from local artist Harry Cleverdon.

There will also be a chance to hear the team line-ups first and get the inside knowledge ahead of kick-off. In 2018 each home game the club will alternate between the East and West lounges for the main member's lounge, giving members on both sides of the venue the chance to experience the pre-game build-up.

Members will also continue to receive 20% off all Raiders merchandise through the Raiders Shop outlets at GIO Stadium and a 10% discount on all food thanks to GEMA catering on presentation of their membership cards.
