By the numbers is back again this week after the Raiders suffered heartbreak at Panthers Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

After a dominant first half from the green machine which saw them lead 26-12 at half time, the Raiders succumbed to the Panthers 40-31 at full time.

For the duration of the contest, the possession was evenly split between the two sides at 50%.

Overall, Ricky Stuart's side had a better completion rate with 25/31 sets completed (81%) while the Panthers managed 26/34 completed sets (76%).

Penrith made more runs with 164 for a total of 1428m while Canberra managed 140 runs with a total of 1351 running metres.

Both sides completed more offloads with the Raiders getting one more than their opponents with 14 compared to 13.

The home side did manage more line breaks with nine compared to six.

Penrith amassed a total of 262 while the Raiders made 254. The mountain men overall made 55 missed tackles while the men in green made 43.

Stuart's troops conceded a total of 10 penalties while Anthony Griffin's men only conceded eight.

Individual Statistics

Jordan Rapana was in the thick of the action as he scored a try and made over 210 running metres. The New Zealand international also put on two try assists as well as nine tackle breaks.

Joseph Tapine was also another standout as he made a total of 126 running metres to coincide with 32 tackles. The Second-rower made 51 post-contact metres with eight tackle breaks.
