Blumers Lawyers CRC Round 3 Preview

After a general bye over Easter, the Blumers Lawyers Canberra Raiders Cup returns this weekend as the Queanbeyan Kangaroos host the West Belconnen Warriors in the Match of the Round.

Queanbeyan Kangaroos v West Belconnen Warriors
3pm Saturday April 27 – Seears Workwear Oval

Reece Robinson is a possibility to play his first game for the Kangaroos as the Queanbeyan side chase their first win of the season.

After an opening round loss to Goulburn, the Kangaroos hit their form in the second half of the Queanbeyan derby as they salvaged a 28 all draw.

The West Belconnen Warriors enter the match of the round in fine form after a 60-18 win against Gungahlin.

In the Warriors ranks will be former Kangaroos playmaker Brent Crisp who has scored seven tries in his first two matches this season.

Woden Valley Rams v Goulburn Workers Bulldogs
3pm Saturday April 27 – Phillip District

The only two sides with two wins under their belts in the first two rounds go head to head in what is sure to be a high quality affair at Phillip.

Both sides have been stingy in defence so far this season, having both conceded only 26 points so far.

Woden will be hoping to continue their 15-match undefeated run that traces back to last season in front of a vocal home crowd.

The Bulldogs will be without Tyler Cornish who suffered a broken jaw but will be hoping to continue their try scoring form. With 90 points already, Goulburn leads the competition in points scored.

Belconnen United Sharks v Tuggeranong Bushrangers
3pm Saturday April 27 – O’Connor

The Belconnen United Sharks host the Tuggeranong Bushrangers at O’Connor as they look to claim their first win of the season.

After a heavy opening round defeat, the Sharks were an improved side against the Woden Valley Rams in Round 2 and will be hoping to continue their upward trajectory.

The Bushrangers enter the fixture after back-to-back byes and will be hoping to play with the same form that saw them claim a 32-22 Round 1 win against the Tuggeranong Bushrangers.

Yass Magpies v Gungahlin Bulls
3pm Saturday April 27 – Walker Park

Yass play at home for the first time this season as they host the Gungahlin Bulls at Walker Park.

The Magpies will be aiming to claim their first competition points for the season after losing to Woden and Goulburn to start the year.

After enjoying a bye in Round 1, the Bulls were comfortably beaten by West Belconnen in the following round and will be looking for an improved performance this Saturday.
