The Gungahlin Bulls have claimed their first win of the season after overcoming an adamant Woden Valley Rams side 24-22.

Brendan O’Hagan starred after coming down from the Mounties after scoring a try, while tries to Robinson, Pettit and Sullivan help close out the victory.

Woden have suffered their second consecutive loss after their 15 match unbeaten run ended last weekend.

The result lifts Gungahlin up into sixth, one place behind Woden who sit in fifth.

Quenbeyan Kangaroos 54 (Tries: K Pagura 3, N Ngere 2, B Cronan 2, J Ayers, R Murray, J Simbiken; Goals: L Ingram 7) d Yass Magpies 10 (I Niumata, B Housden; Goals: S Davis 1)

The Queanbeyan Kangaroos have secured their first win of the season in style after defeating Yass Magpies 54-10 at Seears Workwear Oval.

A hat-trick of tries to Kaine Pagura, as well as doubles to Nukurua Ngere and Bryan Cronan helped the Kangaroos run away with a 44-point victory.

Yass will hope to improve before they face competition heavyweights Queanbeyan Blues this weekend.

Queanbeyan Blues 42 (Tries: J Wheeler 3, J Monaghan, S Fetuani, N Halalilo, J Hitchins; Goals:  T Campese 7) d West Belconnen Warriors 22 (Tries: B Crisp, A McDonald, B Roberts, J Roberts; Goals: B Crisp 3)

Joel Monaghan scored a try in his first game back in the nation’s capital, helping inspire the Queanbeyan Blues to a 42-22 victory over a determined West Belconnen side.

An eight-minute second half hat-trick to Jake Wheeler saw the Blues race away to victory at Raiders Belconnen.

While a gutsy West Belconnen side was determined in the first half, the win for Queanbeyan sees them remain unbeaten in the competition and hot on the tails of leaders Tuggeranong Bushrangers.

Tuggeranong Bushrangers 24 (Tries: J Mitchell 2, N Low, W Alexander, J Kennedy; Goals: J Mitchell 2) d Goulburn Workers Bulldogs 18 (Tries: I Tittor 2, M Dodson; Goals: C Hart 3)

The Tuggeranong Bushrangers remain the only side in the Blumers Lawyers Canberra Raiders Cup with a 100 per cent winning record after defeating the Goulburn Workers Bulldogs 24-18 at Greenway.

Tuggeranong took the lead early when Josh Mitchell scored his first try of the season, however Goulburn lead at halftime thanks to a late try to Michael Dodson.

Wes Alexander shone for Tuggeranong in the second half, both assisting and scoring a try early on before Goulburn’s Izzy Tittor scored a double to bring Goulburn back into the match.

Yet late tries to Jarrad Kennedy and a second for Josh Mitchell allowed Tuggeranong to take the win with a six-point margin.
