On a special Women in League Round episode of The Broader Game podcast, the girls chat to Tain Drinkwater, current Brisbane Broncos NRLW CEO. Tain speaks about how she got to her position, what it’s like to be a female working in rugby league and what lies ahead for the NRLW Broncos side in 2019.

Episode 7: Social Butterflies

On this fortnight's episode of the Broader Game, the NRL's Social Media Manager, Cassandra Wilkins, gives us a unique insight into the challenges of running the game's social media channels (6:40). Jamie Soward joins in on the conversation, revealing his own personal experiences with negative feedback on the internet and how he has dealt with it as a player and now as a media commentator (27:50).

Episode 6: Son of a Gun

On episode 6 of the Broader Game, Alicia and Katie chat to Wayne Pearce on Mitchell’s call up to the Blues ahead of next Wednesday night’s decider (1:10).

Regular segment ‘On this day’ (15:55) takes us back to 2005 where Ricky Stuart slammed Wally Lewis over comments that the Maroons must ‘take out’ Andrew Johns to win the Origin decider even if it means risking a player being placed on report.

The girls chat about state allegiances, grand final predictions and they name their No.1 NRLW player in ‘Fanfare’ (19:20), Alicia is tested on Guess Who (25:15) and we wrap up the episode with the hosts' Hot Take of the Week.

Episode 5: Caroline Layt

On Episode 5, The Broader Game podcast welcomes Caroline Layt, a former NSW State of Origin player and transgender woman. She speaks to Katie and Alicia about her transition and how she dealt with it (02:52) as well as shedding light on how it affected her career as an athlete. (11:50)

Regular segment ‘On this day’ (30:09) takes us back to 2014 where Des Hasler raised issues about short turnarounds following State of Origin games. The girls chat about Marty Taupau’s decision to play for Samoa in ‘Fanfare’ (33:10), ‘Guess Who’ puts Katie to the test (36:10) and we wrap up the episode with a representative special of ‘Hot Take of the Week’.

Episode 4: State of Origin I wash-up

In Episode 4 of The Broader Game podcast, Alicia and Katie break down the five biggest talking points of State of Origin 1, giving us their take on the boycott of the National Anthem and how crucial the Queensland coach whisperer really was to the Maroons win.

Episode 3: Show me the money

In the latest episode of The Broader Game podcast, Canberra Raiders recruitment manager Peter Mulholland discusses player contracts, agents and roster management while Alicia and Katie crunch the numbers to give listeners an interesting insight into exactly where players’ salaries really go.

Regular segment "On This Day" sheds light on player behaviour in camp leading into the 2019 State of Origin series, while Katie is put to the test on "Guess Who". The girls also answer fan questions and give us their Hot Take.

Episode 2: Ian Roberts and Caitlin Moran

In this week's podcast, former South Sydney, Manly and North Queensland forward Ian Roberts joins Alicia and Katie in the studio to discuss the latest events around Israel Folau and Australian cricketer James Faulkner (07:30).

Australian Jillaroos star Caitlin Moran also weighs in on the debate as they give us their take on why no other gay male players have publicly announced their sexuality in 25 years (17:30).

This is followed by regular segments ‘On the day’ (39:34), ‘Fanfare’ (42:10), ‘Guess Who’ (48:24). The girls wrap up Episode 2 with their Hot Take of the Week (50:20).
