Blumers Lawyers CRC Round 8 Preview

The Gungahlin Bulls host the Goulburn Workers Bulldogs in this weekend's Match of the Round.

Gungahlin Bulls v Goulburn Workers Bulldogs
3pm, Saturday June 1 – Gungahlin Enclosed Oval

The Match of the Round takes place in Gungahlin as the Bulls look to return to winning ways against the high-flying Goulburn Workers Bulldogs.

The Bulls have claimed two wins so far this season, with both victories coming against impressive opposition in Woden and the Queanbeyan Blues.

Gungahlin have also claimed both wins at home, while only suffering one defeat at Gungahlin Enclosed Oval this season.

Goulburn enter the fixture on the back of an impressive victory against the Queanbeyan Blues.

After patchy performances against the Tuggeranong Bushrangers and West Belconnen Warriors in the last month, the Bulldogs showed how dangerous they can be with a number of long range tries in a big second half performance.

Belconnen United Sharks v Queanbeyan Kangaroos
3pm, Saturday June 1 – O‘Connor

The Belconnen United Sharks host the Queanbeyan Kangaroos at O’Connor this Saturday as both sides attempt to keep moving up the ladder after finding form over the last fortnight.

After a breakthrough win against Yass, the Sharks backed up their performance against the West Belconnen Warriors to claim a 26-12 win.

The Kangaroos were impressive against the Gungahlin Bulls last weekend as they came back from 10-0 down to claim a mammoth 50-10 win courtesy of five Tre Williams tries.

The Kangaroos are sitting in sixth but a win could see them move as high as fourth on the ladder. The seventh placed Sharks could leapfrog their opponents if they claim the two points.

Woden Valley Rams v West Belconnen Warriors
3pm, Saturday June 1, Phillip District Oval

The Woden Valley Rams will be looking to continue in a similar fashion in which they finished their Round 6 when they host West Belconnen.

The Rams enjoyed the bye last weekend but showed plenty of resolve the week before in a comeback win over Tuggeranong.

West Belconnen will be itching to return to winning ways after they were outplayed by the Sharks last week and subsequently were displaced from the top four.

Queanbeyan Blues v Tuggeranong Bushrangers
3:30pm, Saturday June 1 – Seiffert Oval

The top of the table Bushrangers travel to Seiffert Oval to take on the Queanbeyan Blues in the final match of the round.

Tuggeranong have set the benchmark during the early parts of the season with only one loss from six matches.

After defeating Yass last weekend, the Bushrangers will be hoping to remain at the top of the ladder entering the general bye.

The Blues will be looking to return to winning ways in front of their home crowd after succumbing to back to back defeats.

The Queanbeyan side boast the second best attack and defence in the competition but will need to find a way past the best defence in the league.
