Magpies too strong for Bidgee

The Yass Magpies have claimed an impressive 30-10 win over the Bidgee Bulls at Walker Park on Friday night.

After an early arm wrestle the Yass Magpies took the lead when a cut-out pass from Eilish Winbank found Kristy Huey who was unmarked on the wing.

The two sides continued their battle for field position but the Magpies scored their second of the night after the Bulls conceded a penalty. Sami Afele proved too powerful for the Bulls right edge and steamrolled her way over the line.

With halftime drawing near, the Magpies scored another try as Hollie Massey shaped to pass before running into the gap to extend the lead to 14-0.

It didn’t take long for Yass to continue their try scoring way as Sami Afele made a break downfield before offload supporting Huey who bagged her second.

The Bidgee Bulls fought their way back into the match and scored after (#2) scored out wide after a smart catch and pass.

Yass hit back immediately after they regathered the ball from the kick-off and Massey slammed the ball over the line.

Massey continued her solid game with a pin-point kick found the grateful hands of Taylah Wright who scored.

The Bulls hit back in the final ten minutes to make the score 30-10 as the Magpies maintained their unbeaten start to the season.
