Round one of the Specsavers Katrina Fanning Shield kicked off on the weekend, with the Bushpies and Queanbeyan Blues both recording wins.

The Bushpies claimed their first win in the competition, defeating the UC Buffaloes 18-0 at Phillip Oval on Saturday.
Ahlivia Ingram scored the opening try of the match, bursting through the Buffaloes defence. Bushpies fullback Elissa Blowes crossed the tryline a couple of minutes later, with Emily Ernst adding the extras.
Ingram grabbed her second try of the day, managing to get the ball down in the in-goal.
The Bushpies nearly scored twice in the next set, but were denied by some strong Buffaloes defence and a forward pass. The went into half time leading 14-0.
The Bushpies drew first blood in the second half, with Emily Ernst crossing the tryline.
The UC Buffaloes threw a lot at the Bushpies late in the second half, but the Bushpies defence held up as they claimed the win.
Queanbeyan Blues 64 (Tries: S Hellyer 3, S Wood 2, A Brooks 2, K Haridemos, J Ruiz, J Williams, P Condon, C Spajic; Goals: P Condon 5, S Wood 3) d West Belconnen 0
The Queanbeyan Blues kicked off their campaign with 64-0 win over West Belconnen at Seiffert Oval on Saturday.
The Blues attack was on song, running in 12 tries. Second-rower Shantelle Hellyer scored a hat-trick for her side, while Samantha Wood and Alanna Brooks both scored doubles.
The win sees the Blues finish round one on top of the ladder.
Queanbeyan take on the UC Buffaloes next weekend, while West Belconnen face the Bushpies.
