As the start of the footy season looms for our Score Raiders team, three young Raiders players made a surprise visit to Score Raiders training on Monday afternoon at the NSWRL Academy in Bruce to wish them well for the season ahead.
In 2021, the Score Raiders will be participating in the Canberra Region Rugby League junior competition over eight rounds in the U14 age category, and will play at GIO Stadium as the curtain raiser game to Raiders v Roosters, on Thursday 2 September 2021 in the final home game of the regular season.
An additional two games have been scheduled against Score Dragons which will round out a big season for the team.
Khalil Rahme, Thomas Casey and Matt Fellows from the Raiders NSW Cup squad were on hand to present all the players with a fresh new training kit to use for their weekly training sessions, coordinated by The Disability Trust.
The Score Raiders team were thrilled to receive new kit and to also hear the news that they will be playing 10 games this year, which is a first for the team. This new integrated concept has been developed over the past few seasons with our local league Clubs and administrators and gives the Score Raiders players a real taste of week-to-week football, with a core group of 26 participants who will rotate each week.
This is a huge and exciting step forward for the group and we wish the team all the best for the Season ahead, we will be following you all the way.
The Score Raiders will take on the Bungendore Tigers in their first match, on Sunday May 16 at 3:15pm at Mick Sherd Oval
