Foundation raffle winner gets his car!

It was an exciting morning for Canberra Raiders fan Ian McGlinn this morning at Canberra Toyota in Belconnen, when he picked up the keys for his brand new Corolla, after winning the Raiders Foundation raffle earlier this year.

Mr McGlinn was presented with the keys from Canberra Toyota Dealer Principal Mirko Milic and Canberra Raiders legend Sia Soliola.

The raffle was run earlier this year by the Raiders Foundation to assist in the club's NRLW bid for 2023.

Mr McGlinn said the prize was a huge bonus after what had been a challenging year for everyone due to the COVID Pandemic and he was very grateful to drive away today with first prize.

"It's so exciting after the year we've all had and to receive a phone call from the Raiders to say I'd won the car is unbelievable," Mr McGlinn said. "During lockdown, I was at home and I went on the Raiders Shop website to check out the latest gear and noticed the raffle which looked like a good thing to support."

"I'm an old-time Raiders supporter and I have the old Raiders number plates on my car at home so it's a big thrill to win."

Raiders Foundation Manager, Paul Walshe, said the raffle had been a wonderful way to support the Foundation and thanked Canberra Toyota for their support.

"The money raised from the raffle this year will be vital in the club's push for an NRLW team in 2023," Walsh said. "We'd like to thank Mirko Milic and Canberra Toyota for their support and congratulate Ian on taking home the first prize."
