Canberra Raiders Cup: Round 18 Preview

As we head into the final round of the Blumers Lawyers Canberra Raiders Cup, the minor premiership is up for grabs with three teams in contention.

Woden Valley Rams vs Yass Magpies, 3:00pm, Saturday at Boomanulla Oval

The Woden Valley Rams will host the Yass Magpies at their temporary home ground of Boomanulla Oval.

Coming off a clinical performance, scoring 44 points while keeping the Bulls scoreless, the Rams will be pleased with their form as they gear up for next week's finals.

Likely to finish third if the final round results go as expected, Woden will aim to deliver another strong performance against Yass, fine-tuning their game and positioning themselves to potentially sneak into the top two.

On the other hand, Yass are coming off a heavy 66-12 loss to the Roos and will be eager to deliver a performance they can be proud of as they conclude their season against the Rams.

Tuggeranong Bushrangers vs Queanbeyan Blues, 3:00pm, Saturday at Greenway Oval

The Tuggeranong Bushrangers will see off their season with a home game against the ladder leading Queanbeyan Blues.

Tuggeranong endured a 44-point loss to the Sharks last week and will be determined to avoid a repeat performance in front of their home crowd as they finish their year.

But it's no easy task, as they face the first-placed Blues, who are looking for a big win to secure the minor premiership or, at the very least, lock in an important top-two spot.

The Blues' bye last week allowed the Roos to close the gap in points differential, now trailing by just 11 points. This week's results will ultimately determine the minor premiership.

West Belconnen Warriors vs Belconnen United Sharks, 3:00pm, Saturday at Raiders Belconnen

An always passionate Belconnen derby will mark the end of the Warriors' season, while the Sharks will use it as a warm up for the finals.

The Warriors put an end to their five game losing streak with a strong 38-10 victory against Goulburn last week.

The Sharks also delivered a confidence-boosting performance after a tough fortnight, with a dominant 44-point win over the Bushrangers.

With both teams coming in with winning momentum, this match is sure to be a fiery clash between these rival clubs.

Queanbeyan Kangaroos vs Goulburn City Bulldogs, 3:00pm, Saturday at Seears Workwear Oval

The Queanbeyan Kangaroos will make their push for the minor premiership against the Goulburn City Bulldogs.

Following a 66-12 win over Yass last week, the Roos have closed the points differential gap on the Blues, trailing by just 11 points as we enter the final round.

Another big win this week over the struggling Bulldogs could see them secure the minor premiership for the second consecutive season.

Back in Round 9, the Bulldogs edged out the Roos 28-26 in a thriller. Goulburn will look to replicate that performance and end their season on a high.
