The Canberra Raiders NSW Cup & Jersey Flegg sides kicked off their 2025 campaigns against the Warriors on Saturday afternoon at Leichardt Oval.

Jersey Flegg Cup

The Raiders Jersey Flegg Cup side started their season with a huge 50-4 win over the Warriors on Saturday afternoon.

Raiders 2024 Jersey Flegg player of the year, Regan Carr, picked up right where he left off last season, opening the match with a first-half double.

Canberra went into the sheds with a commanding 16-4 lead at the half before holding the Warriors scoreless in the second to rack up a huge victory.

Raiders prop Caleb Garvie closed out the game with a try-double of his own, including a brilliant individual try in the dying minutes.

Canberra turn their attention to Saturday night at GIO Stadium, when they host the Silktails in the NRL curtain raiser.

NSW Cup

The Raiders NSW Cup side went down 18-16 in a nail-biter to the Warriors on Saturday afternoon.

Canberra came out of the sheds fast, establishing an early 10-0 lead after tries from Trey Mooney and Michael Asomua.

The Warriors hit back with two converted tries to take a 12-10 lead after the halftime break.

Asomua finished a try to add to his tally, including a match-high 191 running metres and three line-breaks in a strong individual performance.

But Canberra couldn't hold out a late try to Moala Graham-Taufa, which was converted by Tanah Boyd to go down by two points to the Warriors in a tight one.

The Raiders will have a bye round to regroup and prepare for their round three match against Manly at 4 Pines Park.
