NSW Cup & Jersey Flegg: Round 10 Wrap

The Jersey Flegg and NSW Cup Raiders sides came away with a win and a loss at Wollongong last Saturday against the Warriors.

Knock on Effect NSW Cup

The Raiders NSW Cup side fell 46-30 to the first placed Warriors last Saturday at Wollongong.

The Warriors piled the points on fast, scoring eight consecutive tries before the Raiders landed their first.

Finally, at the 55th minute an offload from Jed Stuart gave Chevy Stewart the perfect opportunity to crack the Warriors defence and get the first points for the green machine.

Raiders continued to use their momentum to drive their attacking game, getting the ball over the line five unanswered times, with Cook nailing all conversions to narrow the score line to 42-30.

Unfortunately, it was too little too late for the Raiders to comeback from their halftime deficit. They will be looking to bounce back when they take on the Jets this Saturday in Sydney.

Jersey Flegg Cup

The Raiders Jersey Flegg side secured a close 32-28 victory over the Warriors at Wollongong last Saturday.

It was the Raiders who bagged the first two tries through Mutua Brown and Jake Clydsdale to establish a 12-nil lead.

The Warriors hit back, scoring the next two tries, nailing both conversions to bring the score to 12-all just before halftime.

The Raiders, determined to finish the half ahead, utilised both Regan Carr and Malachi Smith who scored and the team entered the sheds ahead 22-12.

From there it was back and forth with the Warriors scoring a double and Raiders fighting back not long after. A penalty awarded to the Raiders gave them an extra two points, sealing the win for Canberra.

They will be looking to make it three in a row when they take on the Dragons in round 12 after a bye round this week.
