The Canberra Raiders NSW Cup side bounced back with an important victory while our Jersey Flegg Cup side fell to Parramatta in a tight loss.

Knock On Effect NSW Cup

The Raiders NSW Cup side has returned to the top eight, knocking off the third placed Eels 22-16 on Saturday night at GIO Stadium.

After a fast start, the Raiders led 18-4 over the Eels at halftime to break a string of slower starts over the past month.

Manaia Waitere came up with a freakish effort in the second half, chipping for himself before putting the ball back on the toe to set Adam Cook up for a try.

Despite a late scare, the Raiders ran away winners to place them back inside the top eight.

The Raiders will stay at home this weekend, when they host the Newcastle Knights on Sunday afternoon.

Jersey Flegg Cup

The Raiders Jersey Flegg Cup side went down 36-30 to the Eels on Saturday morning at Raiders Belconnen.

Despite a fast start from Parramatta, the Raiders hit back late to head into the sheds with a 20-18 lead.

Raiders winger Patrick Broe grabbed his second double in back-to-back weeks as Canberra extended their lead to 30-18 after the break.

But goal kicking was the difference in the end as the Eels flew home scoring three late tries and converting 6/6 to close out the win on the road.

The Jersey Flegg Cup will have a competition bye this weekend, giving the Raiders a chance to reset and focus on the back end of the season.
