Round Five of the Blumers Lawyers Canberra Raiders Cup, saw the Bulls claim their first victory, the Kangaroos and Sharks remain undefeated, and the Bushrangers claim a much needed two points.
Gungahlin Bulls 42 def. West Belconnen Warriors 16
The Gungahlin Bulls secured their first victory of the 2026 campaign this weekend against the West Belconnen Warriors at Gungahlin Enclosed Oval.
Led by their Captain Coach Matt Frawley's kicking game and the running game from fullback Ryan Grocott, Gungahlin produced a solid all-round performance which sees them climb of the bottom of the ladder.
For the Warriors, the loss is their fourth of the season, centre Willie Peace impressed for the visitors scoring two tries in the defeat.
The Bulls will be looking for back-to-back wins next weekend against the Queanbeyan Blues, meanwhile the Warriors welcome the Bushrangers to Raiders Belconnen.
Belconnen United Sharks 38 def. Goulburn City Bulldogs 18
Belconnen United have continued their impressive start to the season with a strong twenty-point victory against the Bulldogs at home.
In the seven tries to three victory, the Sharks had seven individual try scorers, headlined by a returning Regan Carr and Captain Coach Zac Patch.
Meanwhile, for the Bulldogs, the loss sees them drop to seventh position, back rower Shammah Tiumalu crossed for two tries and impressed despite the result.
The Belconnen United Sharks travel to Queanbeyan for a top of the table clash against the Kangaroos next weekend, whilst the Bulldogs return home for a matchup against the Woden Valley Rams.
Queanbeyan Kangaroos 22 def. Woden Valley Rams 12
The Queanbeyan Kangaroos claimed an impressive ten-point victory against the Woden Valley Rams at Seears Workwear Oval on Saturday afternoon.
The Kangaroos have continued their strong start to the season, claiming their fifth consecutive victory, dummy half Rhys Elton scored a double which proved to be the difference.
For the Rams, the defeat is their first of the year and will provide them with a clear picture on where they sit in regard to the competitions benchmark side, Daine Spencer and Owen Mccaughan both crossed the try line in the defeat.
Woden Valley will be looking to bounce back next weekend against the Goulburn City Bulldogs at Workers Arena, whilst for the Kangaroos they take on the Belconnen United Sharks at home.
Tuggeranong Bushrangers 26 def. Yass Magpies 10
The Tuggeranong Bushrangers claimed their second victory of the season against the Yass Magpies on the weekend.
In an impressive display, the undermanned Bushrangers team secured a much-needed victory at home, with the edges causing the Magpies defensive line plenty of headaches.
Whilst for the Magpies, the loss has resulted in them plummeting to the bottom of the Canberra Raiders Cup ladder, Toby Dasey and Trent Vaughan scored their only tries.
The Magpies will have the bye weekend in Round Six before a match up against the Bulldogs in the following week, whilst the Bushrangers face the West Belconnen Warriors at Raiders Belconnen.
