Katrina Fanning Shield: Round Six Preview

Round Six of the Katrina Fanning Shield commences this Saturday, with two games, as the defending premiers look to go 6-0, while others look to bounce back from tough losses and team byes.

Gungahlin Bulls v Queanbeyan Blues, Saturday 23rd May, 12:00pm, Gungahlin Enclosed Oval

The Gungahlin Bulls will stick to their hosting duties when they host the Queanbeyan Blues at Gungahlin Oval.

Gungahlin currently sit in fourth after their 26-14 defeat against the Warriors in Round Five.

Meanwhile, the Blues currently sit in sixth and will be going into the match fresh off a bye.

The Bulls will need to replace the attacking power of Molly Sturgiss has provided in the backline, as she will be missing the match through injury, the strike centre has scored six tries in just three games this season.

This will be a tight matchup with the Bulls looking to keep their top-four position, while the Blues will be looking for their first win of the season on the road.

West Belconnen Warriors v Tuggeranong Bushrangers, Saturday 23rd May, 12:00pm, Raiders Belconnen

The Warriors will return to Raiders Belconnen to host the Bushrangers on Saturday afternoon.

West Belconnen currently remain top-of-the-table following their 26-14 win against the Bulls in Gungahlin, while Tuggeranong move into fifth after their 16-8 victory against the Magpies to claim their first win of the season.

Tuggeranong halfback Adelaide Norris continues to be a standout for the away side, scoring 34 points in just four matches, which currently sees her in second on the total points ladder behind Sharks centre Reese Paunovic on 42 points.

With both teams going into this match coming off large wins, the cross-town rivals will be looking to keep this winning momentum with either a 6-0 winning streak for the Warriors or a second win for the season for the Bushies.
