Becoming a mainstay of the side, Smithies boasts reliable defence in the middle and the ability to play big minutes for Head Coach Ricky Stuart.
Rewarded for another strong season in Canberra, Smithies was selected for the England International side to compete in the 2025 Ashes series against Australia.
