Each week leading into the season we have been profiling a member and different membership type. This week its the Away Flexi.

Name:  David Abreu

Membership Type: Away Flexi  Membership

Member Since:  2005

What are the best things about being a member?

You feel that you are a part of the Raiders family, you are kept informed about what is happening at the club with weekly newsletter updates and are always first to know about a signing or re-signing.

Also contributing financially to the Club as a member is important for the clubs long term future.

Why did you choose your membership package?

Living in Sydney it is hard to get to a lot of home games however I do attend all the Raiders games in Sydney so the Flexi Away membership was the best option for me.

Why should people who come to the game become members?

To feel part of the Raiders family at the game, the more people wearing members gear to the game the more inspiring it is for the players plus there are a lot of good benefits such as pre-purchasing finals tickets before they go on sale to the General Public and discount off Raiders merchandise.

Who are your top five Raiders players of all time?

Laurie Daley

Ricky Stuart

Mal Meninga

Brad Clyde

What are you looking forward to in 2015?

There are so many things to look forward to this season. It will be great to see our new signings run out for the Green Machine this year as some exciting new players have arrived at the club.

I’m also looking forward to watching how much more Mitch Cornish and Paul Vaughan have developed over the off-season. Also, Jack Wighton getting an extended run at Fullback and seeing Jarrod Croker leading the side as Captain.

Which game do you look forward to each year?

The Dragons games in Canberra each year. Hopefully we can begin another 13 year hoodoo starting from this year.

Who are the three Raiders players we should watch this year and why?

Sisa Waqa, what an excitement machine, it could be like turning the clock back and watching Noa Nadruku play. He will become a cult hero amongst the fans.

Blake Austin, what a great signing, he had a breakout year in 2014 and he is an amazing talent. His attitude towards the club, Canberra as a city and the fans has been excellent since he arrived.

Jack Wighton, with an extended run at Fullback he can finally find a home in the backline, the way he returns the ball and his running game will be a massive key for the Raiders this season.

Tell us about your favourite home game of all time…

I can’t go past going to the Snow game in 2000 vs the Tigers. That was a unique experience and glad we got the 2 points in those freezing conditions!

What makes you a unique Raiders member?

I always wear my Raiders gear in the heart of Bulldogs territory!
