The Raiders NYC team will be searching for a seventh straight victory when they host the Melbourne Storm at Seiffert Oval in Queanbeyan on Saturday.
The second-half of the season has been eerily similar for the Raiders NYC and NRL teams. Both are riding six game winning streaks and have been rock-solid in defence in recent times.
NYC coach Brett White said it was the defensive effort that impressed him most in the team's gritty six-point win over the Sharks last weekend.
"I was really happy with the performance. Each week our defence has been getting better and it's been a big focus," White said.
"We have to continue that focus and continue to improve each week. The result last weekend was an outcome of hard work."
Jack Williams will captain the Raiders in the absence of Zac Woolford, who has been suspended for one week for a dangerous throw. Williams spent pre-season training with the NRL team, and has been one of the Raiders best in recent months.
"Jack's second-half of the year has been really strong. He's worked really hard at his game and has been a big part of our improvements in the last 6-8 weeks," White said
"It's a good reward for him and a good opportunity for him."
After bagging a hat-trick for the Australian Schoolboys last weekend, Nick Cotric is rested for the game.
The match has been moved to Seiffert Oval on Saturday due to the work and study commitments of the young players.
It will be the second time this season the young Raiders have played a home game at a local ground, after beating the Cowboys a month ago at Goulburn Workers Arena.
"The boys really enjoyed playing at Goulburn last time, having that local atmosphere and local footy feel. I know it will be the same this weekend. Having the local games on beforehand will really help with the atmosphere," White said.
Kick-off is at 5.30pm on Saturday. All Raiders members will be granted free entry to Seiffert Oval on presentation of their 2016 membership card. Half-time and full-time scores from the match will be on the Raiders Twitter.
