CRRL Cup First Grade

  • Position: 1st (Premiers)
  • 7 wins, 1 loss
  • Points for: 256
  • Points against: 134

The Raiders Under 20’s side joined the CRRL Cup First Grade competition this season after their Jersey Flegg competition was cancelled due to COVID-19.

The side were the benchmark of the competition, with their only loss coming in round six to the Gungahlin Bulls (34-18).

The U20’s had a strong and mobile forward pack, getting their side on the front foot often. Their dangerous outside backs wrecked havoc on the opposition.

They had their fair share of injuries throughout the competition, but the players that came in combined well with their teammates and got the job done.

Joe Roberts, Jordan Williams, Mitchel Souter and Reece Pipers all spent time in the halves, leading the team well around the park.

Caleb Esera was the top try-scorer for the Raiders side, scoring 10 tries throughout the competition.

Mitchel Souter and Jordan Williams both had excellent seasons, jointly winning the CRRL Cup First Grade Best & Fairest Award for 2020 (along with Brayden Robertson from the Rams).
