The Gungahlin Bulls will be aiming to back up their strong season last year when they kick off their 2021 Canberra Raiders Cup campaign.

The Bulls started off last year slowly, but won their last five matches to reach their first grand final since 2008.

They lost to a dangerous Raiders Under 20’s side, but would’ve taken a lot out of the experience and will be primed to go one better this year.

Gungahlin have kept the majority of last year’s squad, which will help with building combinations and structures.

Blake Morschel, Mathew Hately, Riley Flannery, Ealrdric Pehara, Ropeti Mauava, Jarrod Hitchins, Jesse Thompson, Ryan Longhurst and Wayne Sloane all made their first-grade debut for the club last season, and are back in Bulls colours this year.

Tre Williams is a key player for the Bulls this season. The five-eighth was in excellent form last season, leading the team well around the park and setting up many tries.

Williams was part on this year’s Open Men’s Monaro side, along with hooker Zac Patch and fullback Tristan Eldridge.

Neil Bijorac returns as coach, bringing lots of experience to the side.

Hear from first grade lock & backrower Dylan Hately and League Tag outside back Abbie Bailey as they preview the 2021 season.
