Monaro Johns & Daley Cup Round Five Wrap

The SLE Andrew Johns Cup and SLE Laurie Daley Cup competitions continued on the weekend with both the Monaro sides facing the MacArthur Wests Tigers, as both sides were defeated on Sunday.

Due to the severe weather conditions across NSW, both competitions have been extended by a week to allow for washed-out games to be played before finals.

SLE Andrew Johns Cup

The Monaro side went down 24-10 on Sunday at NSWRL HQ, Bruce. After trailing 12-10 at halftime, the Colts failed to score in the second half, conceding two tries to go down in the final game of the season.

Colts centre Harry Hudson scored the first try, followed by another four-pointer by back rower Joseph Elton.

The Colts will await results from the remaining schedule of catch-up matches to determine if they will make finals. They are currently in fourth place after winning two, losing two and recording a draw.

The Colts side were unfortunately defeated 28-14 on Sunday afternoon, spoiling their chances of a finals birth for the 2022 season.

MacArthur Wests Tigers, who only have one loss on the season, dominated with a six-try onslaught as they cement their spot for finals in a couple of weeks.

Colts’ forwards Max Miller and Noah Mills both crossed the line in the first half, with centre Cole Taylor also bagging a try late in the second half.
