The Gungahlin Bulls will look to match their 2021 Canberra Raiders Cup season form as they have their eyes set on a 2022 CRC premiership.

The Bulls will look to contend for another premiership this season after going down in the 2020 grand final to a red-hot under 20’s Canberra Raiders outfit, and yet another shortened season in 2021 due to covid-19.

The Bulls were the competition leaders after 15 rounds, when the competition was abruptly abandoned due to covid-19. The Bulls had conceded only the one loss to Queanbeyan Kangaroos throughout the entire season.

2021 Best and Fairest Tre Holten-Williams spoke upon the Bulls’ preseason and their preparations towards a successful 2022 campaign.

“It’s been a good preseason. It’s been tough, we’ve got a few new players. But, we’re all gelling together really good,” Holten-Williams said.

We did have a good season last year. Hopefully we can emulate that form that we showed last year, we did lose a couple of players but we recruited well as well.”

Former NSW Cup Blacktown Workers Seagulls and South Sydney Rabbitohs back Kane Allan will join forces with Gungahlin who will sure bring experience from a higher level and make an immediate impact in attack.

Former Goulburn City player Isaac Walker will also join the Bulls this offseason who will bring goal kicking specialties after kicking 44 goals for the Bulldogs last season.

Gungahlin have also parted ways with Monaro representatives Zachary Patch and 2021 fullback of the year Tristan Eldridge in the offseason, who have both moved on to other clubs.

Gungahlin Bulls LLT player Martisse McNair also spoke upon their season being cut-short last year and their excitement heading into the 2022 season.

“It was really unfortunate we couldn’t finish the season last year. We were ending the season on a real high, seeking that premiership win. But, I think last year we were really able to get our younger girls really involved,” McNair said.

The Bulls will host the West Belconnen Warriors at Gungahlin Enclosed Field on Saturday April 2nd to kickstart their season across all grades.
