NSW Cup & Jersey Flegg Round Seven Preview

The Raiders NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg teams travel to Penrith this weekend to take on the Panthers in round seven action.

The NSW Cup side's three game winning streak came to an end last weekend at the hands of the Bears, with the side going down 28-20 in a tight affair.

The Raiders currently sit in seventh position on the ladder, just two points behind the fourth placed Eels.

There has been a few changes to the side ahead of this weekend's clash at BlueBet Stadium.

Albert Hopoate has been given the start at fullback, replacing Sebastian Kris. Hopoate has shown great versatility during the past couple of games, slotting in as winger, in the halves and now fullback this weekend.

James Schiller has been named on the wing, having missed last round through injury.

Emre Guler will play his first NSW Cup game of the season after being named as starting prop, while Peter Hola moves to lock. Hola replaces Harry Rushton, who will make his NRL debut this weekend.

Loghan Lewis and Juwan Compain have been named on the bench.

The Panthers have had a strong start to the season and will be a tough team to play at their home ground.

Penrith have won five of their opening six games, scoring 206 points including 37 tries.

The side is coming off the back of a dominant 42-16 win over the Mounties.

The Raiders v Panthers match kicks off at 1:50pm this Sunday.

The Raiders Jersey Flegg side will also be looking to bounce back this Sunday when they take on the Panthers.

After a poor start to the competition, the Raiders got their season back on track with consecutive wins in rounds four and five before falling to the ladder-leading Roosters 40-10 last weekend.

The Raiders currently sit in ninth position on the ladder, with this week's opponents the Panthers sitting one win ahead.

Only one change has been made to the side from last week, with Tane Kiriona coming onto the bench to replace Juwan Compain, who has been named in the Cup side.

The Panthers have had a see-sawing start to the season, winning their first two matches before losing the next three. They defeated the Victoria Thunderbolts last round which will give them some confidence heading into this weekend.

The Raiders v Panthers match kicks off at 12:15pm on Sunday.
