Katrina Fanning Shield 2022: Magic Round Wrap

The Katrina Fanning Shield's rescheduled Magic Round was a success, with the Blues and Bushrangers picking up big wins on Saturday at Raiders Belconnen.

The Magic Round wasn't without its challenges, with South Coast United and Boomanulla both forfeiting their round three matches over the weekend.

Queanbeyan Blues 60 d UC Stars 0

The Queanbeyan Blues have wracked up another huge win, piling on 60 unanswered points over UC on Saturday morning.

This victory wraps up what was an impressive fortnight for the Blues, scoring a total of 24 tries over their last two matches.

The UC Stars struggles continue, falling to their fifth consecutive loss on the season.

UC still have a shot at sneaking into the top five ahead of finals, but will need to knock off an undefeated Yass side and upset the Blues in two of their final three matches.

Both these sides will have the weekend off, where they will match-up again at Seiffert Oval on July 30.

Tuggeranong Bushrangers 38 d Harden Worhawks 4

The Bushrangers have made a clear statement to the competition, coming away with a big 34 point win over Harden on Saturday afternoon.

The Bushies, who were only narrowly beaten 16-12 a fortnight ago by the second-placed Rams, have put in a great performance to wrap-up our Magic Round.

Harden have now fallen to their fourth-straight loss, placing their top five finish hopes in doubt with a tough remaining schedule.

Tuggeranong backrower Maata Alai Lokenin was impressive in the sides' big win, crossing for a pair of tries in the first half.

The Bushies now sit right on the tail of current fifth-placed side South Coast United, tied on eight points with a points differential of only five points.

But first, they will have to turn their attention to undefeated side Yass Magpies while Harden will enjoy the week off to re-group and prepare for the last few weeks of the season.
