Katrina Fanning Shield: Round 12 Wrap

The Katrina Fanning Shield returned over the weekend with the Yass Magpies continuing their dominant form, as they remain undefeated in 2022.

Goulburn City Bulldogs 12 d Woden Valley Rams 6

The Bulldogs have now drawn second on the ladder with their important six point win over Woden on Saturday morning.

The Rams were the first to cross through star five-eighth Georgia Willey, who fooled the defence with a dummy to open the scoring.

The visitors were able to crawl their way back with a try of their own through interchange forward Maccie Whittick, right on the stroke of halftime.

An early second half try to Goulburn centre Madyson Tooth was enough to seal the two points for the Bulldogs, holding onto a 12-6 win on the road.

Goulburn, who still have a game in hand over the Rams, will need to win their final two fixtures to host a home qualifying final in week one of the KFS finals series.

Queanbeyan Blues 78 d UC Stars 6

The Blues have wracked up a huge 78-6 win over the UC Stars, to further increase their for and against to the second best in the competition.

This follows an impressive 60-nil win over UC only a fortnight ago to continue their red-hot form at the most important time of the year.

Multiple Blues picked up doubles and dummy-half Payge Louise-Condon converted 11 goals with the boot.

The struggles continue for UC who suffered their sixth straight defeat on Saturday afternoon.

Fortunately, this year's finals format will give UC a chance to play-off in the bottom four of the competition, once the final two weeks of the regular season are played out.

The Blues will look to secure a better position in the top four over the next fortnight, when they take on Boomanulla and Goulburn.

The Stars will hope for a strong finish to their season when they take on Yass and Boomanulla in the final weeks of the competition.

Yass Magpies 76 d Harden Worhawks 0

The Magpies continued their dominance in the KFS with a massive 76-nil win at home over the Harden Worhawks.

The undefeated Yass outfit piled on 14 unanswered tries, 10 of them which were converted by Monique Bullock.

Backrower Elise Smith was one of the standouts, crossing for four tries in a win that cements their minor premiership credentials.

Yass will now begin preparing for finals, after they take on UC next Saturday.

The challenge for Yass will be having a near month off footy, as they have the bye in round 14, followed by a fortnight off for finishing in first place.

Meanwhile, Harden will be looking to compete in the final stages of the season before preparing for the bottom four finals series.

South Coast United 44 d Boomanulla Raiders 4

The South Coast side returned to their winning ways on Saturday, piling on an impressive 44-4 win over Boomanulla on Sunday afternoon.

This was the first game South Coast had played at their home of Mackay Park since May due to stadium upgrades.

They now sit two points clear of Tuggeranong in fifth spot, for a shot at playing finals in their debut season in the KFS.

Boomanulla are still yet to register a win in 2022 but their will to continue showing up each week, highlights the strength of the KFS.

The Raiders will face the Blues and UC in their final two weeks of the competition.

South Coast United will play one of the games of the season, when they host the Bushies this Saturday.

This match may well decide who will be playing in the top five finals series, with only two weeks remaining in the regular season.
